Shujaat arrived in New Zealand from Pakistan and settle with his family in Palmerston North where he took up refereeing. After a couple of years his family moved to Auckland. Wax Eye Sports and Performing Arts Trust Inc were providing referees for Auckland Sceondary Schools Football Competitions. One Tree Hill College asked me to help out Shujaat. This started our journey. Wax Eye Sports referee team encourage Shujaat to keep improving. Shujaat had made major improvements in his refereeing talent.

Then two years ago the team encourage him to further his refereeing career through NZFA in Auckland. His abilities were quickly recognised and has moved through the ranks of refereeing to the point where he was part of the New Zealand Referees squad who participated in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Premier Boy’s Schools tournament held in Palmerston North. Shujaat made up the referee team for the final where he ran the line.
